Hear About Low Impact Living at Green Drinks SG x The Green Collective SG Relaunch Party

Come celebrate the extension of The Green Collective SG’s lease at OneKM and hear from our speakers on their low impact lifestyles! Everyone is invited to the party where you can meet The Green Collective’s vendors, old and new. Learn how to start your conscious living journey in a talk led by our guest speakers Khee Shihui of Tabaogirl, and Maria Tan of @mariaubergine!

Both speakers will share their experiences and their journeys so far, and do a show and tell of their eco habits. Shihui, will show us how she avoids single use take out disposables and will bring her “Tabaogirl” kit, while Maria will show us how she has a zero waste home, including homemade and everyday zero waste products.

For this event we would encourage you to bring your own cup and if you like, beverages.

Should you have any preloved clothing that is in good condition or unexpired canned food you would like to give away, there are collection points that have been set up by Green Square Textile Recycling, and Food Bank Singapore.

About Our Speakers

Khee Shihui
Khee Shihui is working towards a low environmental impact life. In May 2017, after The Telegraph reported about the irreparable damage done to the Great Barrier Reef due to global warming and human practices, she decided to change her habits instead of just agonising over the environmental degradation of urban life, e.g. prevalence of single use disposables, fast fashion, commercial agriculture or livestock farming. She shares her stories about greener living at @tabaogirl on Instagram, and hopes to encourage everyone that each of us can contribute towards bringing the restoration and renewal we hope to see for Earth.

Maria Tan
Hi everyone! My name is Maria and I’m an aspiring zero-waster. After seeing single-use plastics destroying the natural environment during one of my camping experiences, I knew I had to do something. I started documenting my journey to a minimal waste lifestyle on my Instagram page (@mariaubergine) and was pleasantly surprised to find many keen individuals curious about reducing waste in Singapore. Aside from answering people’s burning questions on all those zero-waste failures and successes, I spend the rest of my free time working on projects (my latest being @backtogroundzero) to raise awareness on the effects of plastic pollution and how we can all lead more sustainable lifestyles. On the weekends, you can often find me at the park doing yoga, pigging out at vegan potlucks, or scavenging for gems at thrift stores.
