27th April: Fashion Revolution Day!

Fashion Revolution Singapore is back!

Held at The Cocoon Space in Design Orchard — located in the heart of Singapore’s shopping belt — this year’s event, in partnership with Textile & Fashion Federation (Singapore), will highlight how the future fashion industry must respect both people and the planet with fair and decent work, environmental protection and gender equality.

Come down, bring your pals, learn something new and be inspired to start asking brands #whomademyclothes.

Our event takes place as always during Fashion Revolution Week 2018 (23 to 29 April) and will mark the sixth year of Fashion Revolution, the world’s largest fashion activism movement founded to radically change the way our clothes are sourced, produced and purchased. It also marks six years since the Rana Plaza garment factory collapse in Bangladesh, where 1,138 people were killed and many more injured on 24 April 2013.

Fashion Revolution x Green Drinks: Making Fashion Circular

For this month’s Green Drinks, we are collaborating with Fashion Revolution Singapore!

In this upcoming panel discussion, we ask ‘Can fashion be circular?’

Singapore throws out 1 tonne of textile waste every 5 minutes. 92% is incinerated and there’s no textile recycling plant here. How do we rethink the fashion industry as consumers, and what is the role of fashion designers in saving our planet?

Fashion Revolution and Green Drinks are pleased to present this exciting panel, moderated by Rajesh Chhabara, sustainability professor at TaFtc and a sustainability consultant:
– Nadya Hutagalung, UN Environment and Great Apes Survival Partnership Ambassador
– Nejla Matam-Finn, CEO and Founder of The Fifth Collection
– Jaimie Lim, Director of Waste2Wear Singapore
– Vincent Ooi, Founder of The Source Collection

Hear what these industry professionals have to say and meet likeminded individuals who care for a circular economy for the fashion industry :)

Date: 28 April 2018
Time: 5pm – 6pm
Venue: The Hive Lavender, Level 6, Vanguard Building, 1 Kallang Junction
Admission Fee: FREE!
