Adam Horler, President, LOHAS Asia
Having charted a highly successful career path through the likes of P&G, L’Oreal, red earth (Esprit), AS Watson and Molton Brown (Kao), Adam Horler decided to leave the comfy armchair of corporate life in November 2008 when he set up Osmosis Ventures whose company mission is “Promote Conscious Living”; and LOHAS ASIA.
LOHAS (Lifestyles Of Health And Sustainability) aims to act as an educator, organizer and connector, bringing business and consumers together to enable trade and commerce in an environmentally-sustainable manner.
Eric Chew, bud Cosmetics
Eric Chew founded bud Cosmetics, home to some of the most trusted, effective and tested organic personal care products for the family. While working in Australia, his passion for organic and natural products grew from making his own soaps and peddling them at weekend markets, into opening his Sydney store offering only organic and natural products.
bud Cosmetics source and carefully select a range high quality, original and award-winning organic skincare products from innovators and specialists around the world, and is beloved by clients for their honest expert advice and dedication to offering the safest products to help them manage their highly sensitive skin conditions.
Delphinia Tam-Lower, Four Cow Farm
Delphinia is a mother of two and part of the family behind Four Cow Farm, an all-natural and organic baby skincare range started by her mum-in-law (a grandmother and former midwife) and made on the family farm in Queensland, Australia (www.fourcowfarm.com). She’s also the co-founder of Green Living, a series of workshops, talks and tips which aim to share the best ideas, recipes and tricks for taking those first steps towards living a simpler, greener life (www.facebook.com/greenlivingtoday). She’s happiest growing potatoes, pottering around her apartment garden, or baking with her kids.
About the organisers
LOHAS Asia, the organization, believes that we can have a modern, convenient life without sacrificing the Planet
on the altar of consumerism by avoiding natural resource depletion and climate change.
Like a little universe we gather the many who have discovered their LOHAS (Lifestyles Of Health And Sustainability) and work for a better future for our planet.
Join us and bring your own creativite flare and unique qualities to our cause and help us build a more sustainable world to live in.
Green Drinks Singapore
Founded in November 2007, Green Drinks Singapore is a non-profit environmental group that connects the community, businesses, activists, media, academia and government, for knowledge sharing and collaboration opportunities. We do this by organising informal talks every last Thursday of the month to allow opportunities for information sharing and networking, over drinks! Once in a while, we hold discussions, documentary screenings and workshops to further engage the public and participants, and we recently started our first campaign – SaferSkin, a campaign for safer skincare and cosmetics.
Singapore is one of more than 590 cities with a Green Drinks presence. Started in 1989 in London, the Green Drinks movement is a self-organising network that is meant to be simple and unstructured. The global site can be found at www.greendrinks.org.
