SGBC wins hosting rights to World Green Building International Congress 2010 amidst other news

The Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) has announced that it will host the World Green Building International Congress 2010 from 13 to 14 September, an event that gathers Green Building Councils worldwide to discuss policies and developmental strategies.

The World Green Building International Congress precedes World Green Building Day on 23 September, and will lead into noteworthy events such as BEX Asia 2010 and the inaugural Green Building Conference.

SGBC is also proud to announce their acceptance as an established member of the World Green Building Council, a union of national councils focusing on moving the building and construction industry to greater sustainability.

In addition, SGBC announced the launch of their green product listing site, an online database which connects building professionals to product manufacturers of green building and construction materials. Those wishing to list their products should register here.

  • About Green Drinks Singapore

Founded in November 2007, Green Drinks Singapore is one of more than 800 cities with a Green Drinks presence.

  • We are a non-profit environmental movement that connects academia, green businesses, activists, community and government, for knowledge sharing and collaboration opportunities. We do this by organising informal talks every last Thursday of the month, over drinks! Once in a while, we hold discussions, documentary screenings and workshops to further engage the public and participants.
  • Started in 1989 in London, the Green Drinks movement is a self-organising network that is meant to be simple and unstructured. The global site can be found at
