The Asian Green Youth Challenge Conference 2012
A group of tertiary level students in Singapore have co-organised a conference with Sustainable Green Solutions called- “Asian Green Youth Challenge” in conjunction with the Waste Management and Recycling Association of Singapore (WMRAS). The one-day forum will be held on 2 July 2012, 9.30am – 3.30pm, at Marina Bay Sands in conjunction with WasteMET Asia 2012. The theme of the conference is “Redefining Waste: Challenges and Opportunities of ASIA”.
The first speaker, Tania Ellis is a CSR/CS Innovation specialist. She is the author of “The New Pioneer” which has made no. 21 on the University of Cambridge’s “Top 40 Sustainability Books of 2010” alongside books by authors such as Al Gore, Muhammad Yunus and Joseph E. Stiglitz. Other speakers include Mie Kodwo from Ghana and Dirk Hebel from German (but based in SG) talking about From ‘Burgers’ to Biofuels, from Bottles to Buildings, respectively.
The Asian Green Youth Challenge (AGYC) is an environmental initiative by youth for youth to imagine and realise sustainable and innovative projects. Having recognised the mounting environmental challenges that Asia faces, AGYC seeks to promote ground-up innovation that is financially and environmentally sustainable.
